AFRICA

AIDS Foundation of South Africa

AFSA is a development  organisation that exists to mitigate the impacts of HIV and AIDS and poverty through the implementation of health and community development projects in vulnerable communities. Their main focus is rural, vulnerable and hard to reach communities.   As a foundation, they act as an interface between donors and community-based organisations (CBOs) and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working in the HIV and AIDS sector, through placing donor funds with strategically selected organisations and providing them with ongoing mentoring, technical support & capacity building.

ANTARCTICA

 The PEW Charitable Trusts' Global Penguin Conservation

Pew's global penguin conservation project aims to reverse the decline in penguin species through the first worldwide effort to address threats to their populations. Pew will take a two-pronged approach by: 1) Working to establish large, no-take marine reserves in Antarctica’s Southern Ocean; 2) Working to restore and protect important breeding and feeding grounds for penguins in the Southern Ocean and the coastal waters of countries throughout the Southern Hemisphere.

Indigenous Literacy Foundation

The Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) is a national charity that was founded and set up by members of the Australian book industry in 2005. It draws on the skills and expertise of the book industry to address children's literacy levels in remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. It is the ILF's purpose to improve literacy levels in the lives of young Australian Indigenous children, to enable them to make the most of educational opportunities. 

EUROPE

 Dogs Trust UK

Dogs Trust (formerly the National Canine Defence League) was founded in 1891 “to protect dogs from torture and ill usage of every kind”. Nowadays, they are best known for their famous slogan - A dog is for life, not just for Christmas. Dogs Trust has grown to be the largest dog welfare charity in the UK, with 20 rehoming centres, caring for over 16,000 stray and abandoned dogs every year.
